Morrigen Stoumbos is a Virginia-based oil painter whose work bridges the technical rigor of inorganic chemistry with the fluid expression of fine art. Holding a degree in chemistry, Morrigen views her studio as both a creative space and an experimental laboratory. Her deep fascination with the chemical interactions between oil pigments, non-toxic mediums, light, and oxygen fuels an exploratory painting style centered on discovery, material transformation, and depth.

Beyond the canvas, Morrigen’s creative vision is shaped by a lifelong immersion in performing arts. Having developed an early sense of form and rhythm through classical ballet and swing dance, she continues her movement practice in aerial circus arts, mastering performance on silks, spiral, and trapeze apparatuses. This kinetic discipline translates directly into her visual work, imparting an intuitive awareness of balance, tension, and dynamic energy.

In addition to her painting practice, Morrigen is the co-founder of WonderBird Press, LLC, where she collaborates with her husband to publish illustrated anthologies. She resides in Virginia with her husband, their dog, and a spirited 20-year-old parrot.
