Art by Morrigen Stoumbos

Morrigen Stoumbos is a Virginia oil painter whose work merges chemical experimentation with dynamic movement. Grounded in a background in inorganic chemistry, she explores the subtle chemical reactions between oil pigments, mediums, and light to create rich, expressive works. Her artistic eye is equally shaped by her passion for movement—ranging from ballet and swing dance forms to aerial circus arts on silks, spiral, and trapeze. Morrigen is also the co-founder of WonderBird Press, LLC, publishing illustrated anthologies.
